Machine This Week, December 8th – 11th
EVENT : storefront + scope, circuits [intervention, investigation].
Thursday, December 8th 2011 at 8pm.
Casey Anderson will be transforming the Storefront Plaza into an interactive sound piece. The audience will be encouraged to interact with the already present ambient sounds of the environment, as well as thoroughly investigate the resonance(s) of the window and the possible interferences caused by moving throughout the plaza.
SIMULTANEOUS WORKSHOPS : Book Bloc Workshop & People’s Microphone Caroling.
Friday, December 9th 2011 from 1 – 4pm.
Ken Ehrlich will teach a workshop on constructing protest shields based on your favorite book covers while Juliana Snapper will join voices with the People’s Microphone Carolers to offer citizens in Echo park a chance to share their own thoughts and have them amplified and gloriously echoed by a chorus.
WORKSHOP : Surface Mount Soldering Workshop and Collaborative Composition.
Saturday, December 10th 2011 from 1 – 5pm.
Assemble a tiny playable synthesizer which will be used to explore generative group sound performances using various rule sets. Together we’ll flock, listen, circle, count, mimic, and scatter.
EVENT : Outdoor Sunset Nap Music in the Hills.
Sunday, December 11th 2011 at 2pm.
Join us for a hike, a snack and a nap with music performed by Kelli Cain and Brian Crabtree. At dusk. Most likely in Griffith Park. Exact location to be announced.
