Join us for an evening of performances that push the boundaries of our disbelief.

First, Christian Cummings and Michael Decker will perform Spectral Psychography. Blindfolded and using a Ouija board with a specially outfitted planchette, Cummings and Decker are guided by unseen forces to create original drawings. They’ve collaborated with Gertrude Stein, Barnett Newman, Walt Disney, and Keith Haring (amongst other less famous specters) to make hundreds of sculptures, sketches, and poems. If the spirits are willing, we’ll witness them creating a couple more to add to the collection.

Next, Michelle Levy visits us from New York City to evangelize Los Angeles with her singular religion. Based on a recurring vision that has visited her for years, The Cornucopia Stromberg is an apparition of a benevolent floating head – the head of the real human Matthew Stromberg – that Michelle believes can bring solace and joy to the world. As the first student of the Cornucopia, she will explore via multi-media presentation what and who the Cornucopia is, and why and how he/it exists, culminating in an inspiring spectacle that may include oracular pronouncements and/or cake.

With music by Anne Hege and Roddy Schrock.
