Class 1
Wednesday, April 2, 7pm–10pm
Part 1: Textile Design
with Gail Swanlund

Learn the basics of designing print patterns for textiles with graphic designer Gail Swanlund. Gail will help you process any pattern inspiration (whether taken from a drawing, painting, photo, or created on a computer) into a design you’ll send to be printed onto Kona cotton by Spoonflower.

Students should bring a laptop with photoshop, illustrator, or indesign on it for the design portion of the class. (Email us if you have different design software that you’d like to use, or if you’d like to create your design entirely by hand.) If you want to draw or paint during class to make your design, please bring any necessary supplies to do so.

Class 2
Saturday, April 5, 1pm–2pm
Wednesday, April 24, 7pm–10pm
Part Two: Basic Sewing
with Annie O'Malley

Once you receive your fabric, Annie O’Malley will guide you in sewing a pillow cover. No sewing experience is necessary, but you’ll need to bring your own sewing machine, thread, and scissors. Pillow forms will be provided.
