Salty dogs, sailors, castaways and Charybdis!

In conjunction with this year’s LA Art Book Fair, Machine Project presents a floating artist-book library on Echo Park Lake, brought to you by Minnesota’s own Sarah Peters. From February 11th – 14th, from 11am – 4pm, you’re invited to come rent a pedal boat from the Echo Park Lake boathouse, and head on over to the center of the lake where you can peruse the finest selection of raft-bound artist books the high seas have to offer. Skip out on book fair crowds in favor of some winter sun, luxurious buoyancy, and an incredible collection of books from artists far and near. Bring your reading glasses, grog, sea chanties, and a bookmark – the Library’s come to town!

**MACHINE PROJECT MEMBERS BRING YOUR MEMBER BADGE FOR $5 OFF PADDLE BOAT RENTALS!!**

The Echo Park edition of the Floating Library is presented by Machine Project with funds from the National Endowment for the Arts.

Raft built by Bob Dornberger based on original design by Molly Reichert

Curatorial assistance by Becca Lofchie.

This project is made possible in part by a grant from the City of Los Angeles, Department of Cultural Affairs.
