a revisionist spectacular, a preview of Emily Lacy’s LACMA residency, and a couple of spots left in soldering

Hi everyone, because next weekend is Thanksgiving and we’ll be spending the time with friends and family having eating competitions and watching hulu, we’re packing in 3 things at Machine this weekend. Please join us for the following pre-holiday treats:

The Island of Florida: A Revisionist History
Friday, November 20th, 2009 // 8pm

Join us this Friday night for a performance described to us as “if Brian Wilson, Axl Rose, Samuel Beckett, Stephen Sondheim, and Freddie Mercury had an orgy and made a baby out of steroids and cement.” Featuring John P. Hogan and Ponce de Leon.

Sneak Preview of Emily Lacy’s “Temples of the Mind”
Saturday, November 21st, 2009 // 8pm

Longtime Machine pal Emily Lacy is going to be a resident artist at LACMA this December & January, and she’s been experimenting with all sorts of new and wild sounds. She’s also looking for interns to help her produce her residency show, which will be called “Temples of the Mind”. Please join her at Machine Project this Saturday night for a special sneak preview of some of the things she’ll be doing at LACMA this winter, and come talk to her about how you might be able to help her realize this exciting project! (Note: one of the ways you might be able to help is by loaning some equipment, there are a few things she still needs! The list is at the link below.)
