marmots, cloning, rats and math this week

We have a weekend full of science and rodents coming up! Join us for these fun things:

The Sound of Fear
Friday, May 7th at 8 pm
A lecture on the evolutionary paradox of screams, as illustrated by marmots, by UCLA professor Daniel Blumstein.

Rats at the Hammer
Saturday, May 8th at 1 pm
HAMMER Residency // The Rats play two minute concerts in the Little William Theater, a coatroom under the stairs in the lobby at the Hammer Museum.

Clone-Home with CRITTER Salon
Saturday, May 8th from 3 – 5 pm
Come out with CRITTER Salon and learn about growing plants from cuttings. No experience or green-thumb required!

Topology: the geometry that isn’t.
Sunday, May 9th at 8 pm
Vin de Silva gives a lecture on the topic of topology. Super mathy, very mysterious, and somehow related to the theory of robotic sensor networks.
