Ezra Buchla residency, night 3 — folk music
Thursday, January 27th, 2011
For the next two thursdays at Machine Project, we will be turning to more traditional structures for music and thought transmission. This week (1/27) we will have a subdued folk singalong.
In keeping with the pattern of arbitrary limitations, we will be performing only songs that I learned before the age of 10, and only on untempered string instruments (viola, cello, bass.)
I (ezra buchla) will be leading the singing and stringing, joined by laura steenberge and surprise guests.
Songbooks will be available at the event. Bring your quiet singing voice and your untempered childhood senses.”
