Drawing Plants, Not The Usual Approach
Saturday, November 19th 2011
9am-5pm (with one hour lunch break + afternoon tea)
Taught by Mercedes Teixido
Sorry, sold out
A day long drawing workshop exploring contemporary approaches to drawing starting with observational drawing and gradually working towards experimentation and abstraction. We will start with skills of observation and then build upon those, inventing, distorting, re imagining and collaborating to create our own ideas and images of plants. We will also work with a variety of materials, graphite pencils, colored pencils, markers and ink. This course is suitable for beginners with a sense of adventure and experienced artists wanting to get back into working with materials on paper and develop improvisational strategies to drawing.
Mercedes Teixido is an artist particularly interested in works on paper and a teacher of drawing who has an interest in idiosyncratic and process oriented approaches to making.
