Come to class with an idea of the type of data you’d like to look at (traffic patterns, population, and temperature are just a few possibilities), and we’ll help you find the necessary data, as well as provide you with resources to find your own data in the future.
Participants will need to bring a laptop (Macs preferred) to each session; we’ll download all the necessary software, as well as a free reference book, the first class. You should also double-check to make sure your laptop can handle WebGL (which you can do by visiting this page, or clicking on many of the data art example links above – this is generally not an issue for Macs running a newer OS). Participants should be high school age or older.
