24 hours of noonday sun, this Friday July 11th!

Join us for Part Two of “A Practical Demonstration” this Friday, July 11th!

All day at the gallery we’ll be projecting continuous live broadcasts tracking the sun as it travels around the Earth, with help from camera-ready friends and volunteers worldwide. (We still need a volunteer cameraperson in Cape Verde if you know anyone.)

We’ll also be screening the final edited footage of our stunt jumper from this past Sunday. Pictures below!

“A Practical Demonstration” is an exercise in suspended orbits, suspended disbelief and circular group formations. This two part project by Jon Rubin consists of a circle of local amateur videographers documenting a stuntman leaping from Machine Project’s 2nd story window and another circle of international participants documenting the sun for 24 hours as the earth spins in its daily orbit.
