This has been a great year for Machine Project. We hosted over 100 free events, built a forest, made a book, napped in the front window, taught everything from drag makeup to electronics to stone knife making — and the landlord still hasn’t realized how many holes we’ve drilled in the floor.
The support of people like you made all of this possible – thanks! Membership provides more than 50% of our operating budget and is essential to our staying in business. Together, we have a great ecosystem going – you support us, we support the artists, and the artists create the events, shows and workshops that you come to. We rely on people like you to keep the system alive. So if you haven’t already, please do the following immediately:
* donate $128 – or whatever amount you like — to renew or become a current member of Machine: http://machineproject.com/build/engine/join
* give an additional gift to help this campaign: http://machineproject.com/build/engine/donate
* consider giving the gift of membership to a friend or family member (we will write them an elaborate letter describing how great you are, and send it along in time for the holidays)
* buy copies of the Machine Project Field Guide to LACMA for yourself and everyone you know. We can gift wrap and ship them directly as the perfect holiday gift. http://machineproject.com/build/engine/shop/lacmabook
On Dec. 12, we’ll also be wrapping up 2009 with the 5th annual holiday Fry-B-Q party – complete with liquid nitrogen dessert treats! It’s this Saturday, Dec 12th, from 7-10pm – we hope you can join us! (NOTE: Due to the popularity of frying edibles in hot oil, the party is for members only this year.)
Have a great holiday, and we’ll see you soon.
