ill-gotten gains, monster-making, bookbinding + killsonic

We’ve always wondered about pickpocketing as a fundraising strategy, so Machine Project has decided to hold its first annual Benefit Fundraiser with the theme of “ill-gotten gains” on November 7th. Tickets available here, now!

Also there’s still time to sign up for our Monster Prop & Costume Class with GWAR alum Hunter Jackson. Class meets 6 times in October, so you can build a costume version of your favorite internet celebrity (or any other wild idea you have) just in time for trick-or-treating. Register here!

And this weekend:

Kristen St. John, conservator for the UCLA Library, joins us Sunday afternoon, October 4th, at 2pm to explore the possibilities of hand-bound book structure. Kristen will bring samples of books that illustrate variations in binding styles and invites participants to bring their models or books to share as well.

Then on Sunday night, October 4th, at 8pm come see the Killsonic Women’s Choir and Amplified Percussion Ensemble and its more or less 10-to-20+ member mobile orchestra invade Machine. Details here:
