In conjunction with the Hammer’s summer exhibition Outside the Box: Edition Jacob Samuel we are offering two, one day printmaking workshops to familiarize visitors with intaglio’s most intuitive process: drypoint etching. Participants will be able to create their own etchings made by scratching marks into a plate surface and running it through the etching press. Workshops will be held at the Hammer on the gallery level terrace. Ages 13 and up, no experience necessary – beginners welcome! Due to limited space (10 students per class) we request participants sign up for one workshop only, either Saturday, July 24, 1-4pm or Sunday, July 25, 1-4pm.
