On the night of the Full Crow Moon, the night the moon swings closest to the earth, Maja D’Aoust will expound eloquently upon the meaning and technique of chant and invocation, to prime us for a meditative group performance of several devotional chant pieces from the Hindu kirtan and Buddhist mantra traditions, with musical accompaniment.

Maja’s interest in esoteric sciences including magic, alchemy, and astrology spans her entire lifetime, and she holds a master’s degree in transformational psychology with a focus on shamanism and the I Ching.

Maja has been librarian and lecturer at Manly P. Hall’s Philosophical Research Society in Los Feliz, which holds some of the rarest collections in consciousness studies, psychology, eastern & western religions, mysticism, and metaphysics, and she is the author of The Secret Source, a book on the hermetic wisdom of the Kybalion and the Emerald Tablet.

This event is part of Skylike Notdoings, a residency by artist Daniel Brummel.
