We’d like to invite you to one of our most exciting and potentially disastrous events of the year. On Saturday, November 5th from 8-11pm we’ll be holding our Machine Project Benefit, which will be based around that unbeloved place known as the Department of Motor Vehicles. Please join us for an evening of unbridled confusion as we transform an event space in Atwater Village into the DMV of Machine Project’s imagination.

Tickets are $75 for Machine Project members and $100 for general admission. $250 Benefactor tickets will get you into a special pre-event reception in a bamboo garden from 7-8pm. We also have a combo package deal which will simultaneously make you a member as well as admittance to DMV: After Dark.

What’s going on?

At DMV: After Dark, you will experience such phenomena as: car horn fanfare; competitive sobriety tests (where our hand-crafted breathalyzer will determine your level of inebriation, along with “Adjuster Pie” to give you an edge); workshops on breaking into and hot-wiring cars, as well as how to escape from a locked trunk; home-made beers brewed by members of the Machine Project community; heavy metal polka; surrealistic eye charts; “secret pancakes”; a human vending machine which dispenses delicious food prepared by Donna Coppola of Auntie Em’s Kitchen fame.

Please note that this is not taking place at a real DMV. Do not bring your expired car registration papers or unpaid parking tickets.

*Note: this event is not actually taking place at a real DMV, but in the DMV of our imagination. Physical space provided by the fine folks at Elysian.
