Now’s the chance to see lead artist Chris Weisbart’s Alvarado Caverns and Mystery Theater in person! Starting this Thursday October 17th from 8-10pm, and running every Thursday through Sunday from 8-10pm through November 24th, we’ll hold open hours for you to come experience our haunted cavern and gorgeous 18-seat theater. If you’re interested in seeing shows in said theater, please check below for this week’s offerings and ticketing information.

WORKSHOP: Embroidery for Artists at 1450 Ocean
Saturday, October 19th, 12-3pm

Learn the basics of hand embroidery from Jenny Hart in Embroidery for Artists, a class that focuses on textural effects and free-form techniques. Hart will give a brief talk on her work, lead students through the basics of hand embroidery, review tools, share techniques for transferring original designs to fabric and “doodling” in embroidery. Students will leave with a new understanding of hand embroidery and the ability to experiment with it in their own work.

Registration is $75 for Machine members and $85 for non-members. For more information and to register, click here: /build/engine/archive/classwork/2013/10/19/embroidery-for-artists-at-1450-ocean/
