20131106

OPEN CAVERN HOURS : Alvarado Caverns and Mystery Theater
Thursdays through Saturdays at 8-10pm

Drop by our open hours to see our incredible installation and its old-school tricks of the haunted trade. And please read this lovely Gizmodo article about the cavern and all its wily ways, unless you’re afraid of having the Haunted Mansion ruined for you forever. Or, just read it anyhow!

*Thursday, November 7th from 8-10pm: The charming and insightful MW of Tarotscopes will host a tarot card reading in the Mystery Theater.

*Friday, November 8th & Saturday, November 9th, 8-10pm: Back by popular demand! Joe Merrell’s “Suspension of Disbelief (for the love of Frater Perdurabo & K.A.)”, a psychedelic and beautiful 3D ChromaDepth video homage to the work of Kenneth Anger and Aleister Crowley. Screenings every 20 minutes or so, so just drop on by. 3D glasses provided; not for the faint of heart or those sensitive to flashing lights and images!

THEATER PERFORMANCES : Machine Project’s Mystery Theater

Seating for all shows in the Mystery Theater is extremely limited and by advance purchase only. No late seating. All tickets are $9 for members // $15 for non-members unless otherwise noted. For a list of upcoming shows, click here.

*Friday, November 8th and Saturday, November 9th at 11:59pm: Ghost in the Machine Project
Join us for a haunting and haunted puppet spooktacular, an evening of marionettes, music, movies, merriment & mayhem (not necessarily in that order). Marvel at the puppet stylings of “Rasputin’s Marionettes” and “Sir Witch Crafts”! Enjoy rare humor-laced horror clips that shall be projected before your melting eyes! Swoon at the eerie organ talents of “Loto Ball”! For two howl-raising nights only, and commencing at the stroke of midnight – the hour when the forces of darkness reign supreme.

*Sunday, November 10th at 2:00pm: Waterworker: Acapella Songs of Spirits, Death, and Dreaming – Emily Lacy
Folksinger and sound artist Emily Lacy presents a nostalgic collection of acapella songs that explore vocal range, capacity, and color. Drawing on both energies found in early American nation-building, as well as the spiritual baggage of death, passing, and disappointment, a unique crossfire is lit.
