In this class you will make your own LED-lit algae sculpture to take home with you, with the help of Denise King, exhibit developer for the Exploratorium in San Francisco.
Algae is a unique medium for creating sculptural forms – it is alive, it has a beautiful vibrant color, and it can live for long times with almost no care. All you need to grow it is a clean-ish transparent container and some light. We’ll provide all the materials necessary for you to create your very own light sculpture using living algae.
Participants should be 14 years of age or older.
This class is inspired by the Algae Chandelier that Denise developed for the Exploratorium.
