Environmental sensing workshop
On Saturday August 23rd, 12-5PM, the Black Cloud Research Team will host 12 Citizen Scientists in the construction of 12 PuffTron Minis. Hardware, which is included in the cost of the workshop and will be yours to keep, includes an Arduino board, a light sensor, a VOC (volatile organic compound) sensor, and two LEDs (light emitting diodes). Arduino runs equally well on Macs and PCs, but please bring your own laptop. Since Arduino communicates so well with Processing, we can work with those that finish early to build a Processing app that visualizes their air quality data.
sold out, thanks
Prior experience with Arduino (and/or Processing) is helpful, but not required. To prepare for the workshop, please go to: http://www.arduino.cc/en/Main/Software and download the Arduino programming environment. If you need help, come to the Machine Project early (10AM) and we will assist in this process.
If you are interested in visualization, go to: http://processing.org/download/index.html and download the Processing environment as well.
