“Heretics” is a musical mini-series performed live Sunday evenings in November. Each Sunday night, from Nov. 2nd through Nov. 23rd, there will be a new episode performed for a live audience. The series details the adventures of a group of Roman Catholic friars sent on a mission by the pope to convert the natives of The New World, but who find themselves instead on an island populated by Bacchus-worshipping women and a mysterious pan-sexual fish monster.
John Hogan will narrate, act, and sing songs for you, with the help of his trusted ensemble and many hand-made and hand-drawn sets and props. It’s like a down-market puppet show, all-ages rock show and community theater script-reading, all rolled into one and resulting in something approximating a kind of whimsical vaudevillian satire for adult children. If John Milton, Basil Wolverton, and The Folk Implosion took over A Praire Home Companion for a month, it would be something like this.
