Fry + Pie on your plate, Poetry on your phone + at your door
On Saturday December 13th at 8pm, our December Artist in Residence Joshua Beckman and Master Pie-maker Jen Bervin will be presenting a lecture on the theory and history behind pie-making, as well as offering a pie-making practicum. Details here.
Also this weekend, Machine Project’s annual FRY-B-Q is upon us! Gather the stash of fryable foods you’ve been collecting and come to Machine this Sunday, December 14th starting at 8pm for our All-You-Can-Fry holiday party. This year there’s a new twist — Pie-B-Q! Head to Machine for the fried food extravaganza and live music, and join us next door at the Echo Park Film Center for screenings of new videos from the Machine Project Field Guide to LACMA, rare Machine home videos, and pies. Pies! Admission to the event is free, pay $5 for all you can fry privileges, and $5 for all you can pie privileges.
Also in Residency news, our Poetry Delivery Service continues this week with a regular schedule of call-in hours.
On Mondays thru Thursdays, 9pm-10pm, call 213.448.7668 to request that a poem be read over the phone to you.
On Sunday December 21st, from sun-up to sundown, we switch over to a door-to-door Poetry Delivery Service. December Artist in Residence Joshua Beckman and Machine’s Poet Laureate Anthony McCann will be taking poetry delivery requests over the Poetry Phone at the same number, 213.448.7668. Details here:
