Nate Page installation and Nowcloud residency continue; Sewing starts this Saturday

“Machine: Subject/Object/Project”, an installation by Nate Page, will be open for a month from Feb 6th – March 5th 2010. Nate has taken all of the physical stuff from the Machine Project space and transformed it into narrative sculptural vignettes. Any remaining supplies from the gallery and office have been shrink-wrapped, and the staff is being forced to break through the plastic every time someone needs anything during the show’s one-month run.

To see for yourself, or help us figure out which plastic-wrapped pile the stapler/paper clips/telephone might be inside of, come on any weekend in February from 12-4pm or by appointment.

On Saturday Feb 13th, 2010 we’ll be back at the Hammer Museum. In a small coatroom under and inside the stairs in the front lobby of the Hammer is the Little William Theatre. On Saturday from 12-4 Julia Holter and Casey Anderson will be performing short concerts for up to two people at a time. Keep up with everything Machine’s doing at the Hammere, here: /build/engine/hammer

Also on Saturday is the triumphant return of Machine Sewing 101 with Annie O’Malley. To be immediately followed in March by Sewing 102 with Annie O’Malley! Sign up for one, or both, and learn how to start making your own fancy outfits as early as this weekend.

Then on Sunday, join us for the second show of Nowcloud’s February residency at Machine. Free, every Sunday at noon.
