This Thursday, as the last installment of Ezra’s Machine Project residency, he’ll be talking about the process of creating sound from numbers.
Joining him will be his mother, Amy Radunskaya, a professor of mathematics at Pomona College and an accomplished composer/cellist.
They’ll gently introduce and explain the context and concept of numerical/mathematical modeling, describe some features of complex and chaotic systems, discuss perceptual and aesthetic ramifications, and present some specific models.
Also Ezra will probably bake some snacks.
