- Join us on Sunday, March 13th at 8pm for a screening of the film Meetings With Remarkable Men: Gurdjieff’s Search for Hidden Knowledge. The film weaves the stories of “remarkable men” Greek-Armenian mystic Georges Ivanovich Gurdjieff has met into the story of his own travels across the Near East and Central Asia, locating spiritual texts and/or other “Seekers of Truth” along the way. This event is part of Skylike Notdoings, a residency by artist Daniel Brummel. More info on the film here.

After a year of teaching beginners’ MIG welding at Machine, instructor Matt Jones has started his own welding studio somewhere in the vicinity of downtown, and will be teaching welding classes regularly from there. He’s taking sign-ups through Machine Project and will be starting a brand new class for Intermediate MIG Welding starting on Tuesday March 15th. All students must have prior beginners’ welding experience, and should walk away with a completely finished piece of furniture. Machine members do still get a discount, and space is limited to just 4 students.

Arduino – that inexpensive, delightfully easy to learn, and impressively capable microcontroller – is the subject of a new workshop by the equally impressive Beth McMullin beginning Tuesday March 8th. This class tends to sell out quickly so we recommend registering quickly. Sign up for Intro to Arduino here. Randomly, if you’re a Machine Project member and you have a beard (or are willing to wear a fake one throughout the entire class — BYO fake beard), we’re offering a steep discount on the class.
