Finally—intermediate MIG welding! This class will cover the basics of designing, jigging, and constructing welded steel furniture.
We’ll start by covering the use of a horizontal band saw, drill press, and mig welder refresher. Then we’ll practice by building some stools, leading up to designing and building your very own bench, nightstand, coffee table, or table table. Students should have taken beginning MIG or have some welding experience, be comfortable with power tools and sparks, wear natural fibers clothing, and be ready to weld from the first day.

Our beginners welding instructor, Matt Jones, has founded his own welding studio close to Machine and is currently teaching classes from there. He’s taking all sign-ups for classes through Machine Project, and giving Machine Project members a discount.
(Registration fee includes $150 materials fee which will allow you to complete one whole furniture project of your design. Larger projects may incur additional materials costs.)
