Let’s say you’re intrigued by improv but always felt weird about signing up for a class. Well, Machine has you covered! In this two-day class, which takes place on the Mystery Theater stage, you and your classmates will create new realities to play in while learning the key principles of improvisation. Ben Benjamin, artist/designer/occasional improvisor, will be your guide.
Registration is $55 for Machine members and $65 for non-members. For more information and to register, click here: /build/engine/blog/2014/02/20/improv-for-people-who-would-never-take-an-improv-class
Adrienne Adar invites you to experience Optical Illusion Ping Pong, an amped up version of the beloved rec room game. Experience the psychedelic effects of playing ping pong while immersed in a room covered floor to ceiling with a black and white checkerboard pattern. We’ll have Drop-in play and free beer tp celebrate the opening of this installation, up through March 7th.
Learn the basics of circuit bending and hardware-based glitch art techniques in this afternoon workshop. We will dismantle and disarm a digital camera, short circuit the electronics, and capture wild hallucinations from the altered mind of the rewired camera brain. You’ll leave with a camera and a memory card that will allow you to continue making glitch art at home, as well as any files you generate in class.
Registration is $110 for Machine members and $125 for non-members. For more information and to register, click here: /build/engine/blog/2014/02/23/digital-cameras-circuit-bending-glitch-art
