Usually appearing as a trickster, a cultural hero or both, Coyote also appears in creation myths and etiological myths. Although often appearing in stories as male, Coyote can be female, hermaphrodite, or gender changing, as told in traditional Aboriginal stories.

MACHINE PROJECT FIELD GUIDE TO GRAND PARK: Los Angeles Department of Weather Modification
Tuesday, June 10th – Friday, June 13th from 11am-2pm
Artist Chris Kallmyer presents the Los Angeles Department of Weather Modification (LADWM), dedicated to investigating the changing weather through sound, spirit, and perception. LADWM has established a field office in Grand Park altering weather experiences for downtown inhabitants.

WORKSHOPS: PhoneGap 101: Utilizing Web Technologies for Mobile Apps
Tuesday, June 10th and Thursday, June 12th from 7-10pm
In this two part class, Raphael Arar will help you get started making native apps for iOS using PhoneGap, which allows you to make a mobile web application that functions like a native smartphone app. You’ll learn how to create a basic map application that leverages geo-location and Google Maps. Participants should have a basic knowledge of HMTL, CSS and Javascript.

MACHINE PROJECT FIELD GUIDE TO GRAND PARK: Los Angeles Department of Weather Modification, Weather Opera
Thursday, June 12th at 8pm
An opera investigating wind, rain, and the lore surrounding our relationship with the weather in Los Angeles. Participants will lament weather modification gone awry, and explore our changing environment through autotuned weather reports, weather radio, and music composed by the LADWM.

Saturday, June 14 at 10:00pm
Sweat and sway with Dj Sharkey. Snacks. Drinks. Paintings. BYOB is ok too. Sweat pants recommended.
