MACHINE PROJECT FIELD GUIDE TO GRAND PARK : Grand Rounds with Elana Mann
Tuesdays in May at 12noon
As part of the Machine Project Field Guide to Grand Park, artist Elana Mann and facilitator Camilo Cruz will hold informal discussions with Los Angeles County and City employees every Tuesday in May in Grand Park, including this Tuesday May 19th. These conversations will center on the different voices, ears, and roles both public officials and citizens use to invigorate communities. Look for the blanket and umbrellas on the performance lawn, just east of the fountain. This event is co-presented with the Music Center. A staged remembrance of unknown glory re-imagines the elegant port de bras (movement of the arms) of the ritual ballet reverence to evoke soft expression at the intersection of Franca’s Ballet Russe days and the present moment. Marcel Alcalá presents an exhibition of paintings and drawings will coincide with a performative video shoot in collaboration with Young Anthem aka Bird Monet and Peter Luber. Part of a series of events curated in the MPPSfP by Reid Ulrich.
