The Best Friends Learning Gang returns next Friday for another Amateur Hour, this time focused on the nebulous quality of FAME. Achieve the beauty standards of celebrity with the transformative power of facial contouring make up. Make your eyes pop, sculpt your jawbone, chisel your cheekbones, and slim your nose down to a fine point. Fabricate a personal history to maximize intrigue and prophecy your meteoric rise. Capture yourself at your peak with a head shot from our amateur photographers. As always the evening is 100% amateur run, with no central leader or authority. Free beer.

Workshop: Graceless Lady: Mystery Theater Dance Workshop

This June Machine Project begins a six week experimental dance workshop, designed for those who may not have formal training, but are interested in creating movement-based performances. Artists Maria Garcia and Clare Kelly will share their process of developing performances together as friends and collaborators, and guide participants to develop performances of their own over the course of the six weeks. A rotating cast of experimental musicians will work with participants to create custom scores to perform to, working towards a final performance series in Machine Project’s Mystery Theater. This workshop is an experiment that will evolve based on the interests participants bring to the group. Open to all humans.
