Come to Machine Project to (finally) learn to yodel in the Georgian tradition of Krimanchuli with Linnea Sablosky, Los Angeles’ resident Georgian practitioner.
After a workshop and demonstration session with Linnea and Machine intern Gemma Godfrey, attendants of the workshop will work together to put their new skill into immediate use in creating a collective experimental sound piece! We will capture and play with our new sounds using loop pedals and the experimental recording technology of the “earbee,” an invention by CalArts faculty and friend of Machine Project Sara Roberts. Admission is free, except for the price of loudly making noise you never knew your body could produce in the company of strangers.
