Jmy James Kidd
Jmy James Kidd (b. 1979) is a self-taught choreographic and costume designer, classically trained in ballet and modern dance. She resides in Los Angeles and works out of her studio, Pieter. Kidd’s choreographic work has been commissioned by Redcat, Creative Time, Honor Fraser, MIT, Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit and The Kitchen. She has designed costumes for Sarah Michelson, A.L. Steiner, Dawn Kasper, John Jasperse, luciana achugar, Dance by Neil Greenberg and Gerard & Kelly. She is a founding member of NICK+JAMES, MGM Grand, AUNTS and CLASSCLASSCLASS. She has a degree in Modern Literature from UC Santa Cruz and apprenticed with the Merce Cunningham Dance Company.
