workshop on sound circuits

Square waves for beginners
A build your own noise thing workshop spectacular
Sunday November 5th 11-1pm, lunch break, 2-6pm

Announcing a hands on workshop on building your very own square wave generating audio device.

Taught by Mark Allen (Director, Machine Project), this afternoon workshop will cover the following in a shockingly intense six hour session – The basic physics of sound and electricity, using a 555 timer to create an adjustable oscillator, how to prototype a circuit on a bread board, how to amplify a line level signal using inexpensive computer speakers, soldering, and keeping a calm positive mental attitude under intense pressure.

No experience with electronics needed or even recommended. All materials included, except computer speakers, which you’ll need to hear your rad project. Everyone leaves with a functioning and highly annoying audio device that you will build yourselves.
