Machine Project is seeking a development/membership intern. The development intern will work closely with the Assistant Director to gain understanding of how fundraising and membership sustains a small nonprofit.
We are looking for someone who is interested in working with artists as well as being an accommodating host to our fans. Experience with WordPress is a plus. You must be available some weekends and/or weekday evenings. The internship will last about 12 weeks, from September-December, and average 8-10 hours a week.
Responsibilities may include:
- Compile and organize membership materials
- Assist in production of membership mailings
- Work with Assistant Director to revamp current membership program
- Coordinate member-related special events
- Research potential funding sources (foundations, individuals, public sources)
- Compile information for grant applications/assist with preparation of proposals
- Provide editorial support for grants
- Data entry and database maintenance
Excellent organization and production skills are essential. Applicant must have strong communication skills and a meticulous attention to detail. A strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel is required. Additional proficiency in Photoshop and database software like Salesforce is preferred.
This is an unpaid internship but we’re happy to work out credit with your school and provide all the tea and coffee you can consume, and the occasional free lunch. You’ll also pick up a diverse array of event production skills, as all of our events are different and have their own specific requirements.
If interested in applying, email elizabeth@machineproject.com with a cover letter and resume.
