Machine Project

Machine Project is seeking an enthusiastic individual or two to help coordinate events from our storefront space in Echo Park. We produce around two to three workshops and events a week, which range from lectures, readings, and musical performances to screenings, electronic instrument building, and interactive performance pieces.

We are looking for someone who is interested in working with artists as well as being an accommodating host to our fans. Experience with WordPress is a plus. You must be available some weekends and/or weekday evenings. The internship will last about 12 weeks, from September-December, and average 8-10 hours a week.

Some of our requirements include:

•  A familiarity with Machine Project’s programming.
• Some knowledge of setting up audio/visual equipment (i.e. sound systems, lights, computers, projectors, etc.)
• An ability to multitask and quickly work out solutions to problems as they arise.
• Friendliness and an enthusiasm for attending performative events.
• You should be responsible, punctual, and flexible.
• Having a car and/or living near Machine is not necessary, but very helpful.

This is an unpaid internship but we’re happy to work out credit with your school and provide all the tea and coffee you can consume, and the occasional free lunch. You’ll also pick up a diverse array of event production skills, as all of our events are different and have their own specific requirements.
