Four sounds are used (one for each color), creating a pattern that is repeated twelve times, in accord with the number of repetitions in the length of the Wiener Werkstatte textile in the permanent collection of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, M.2006.88.11. The chords spell out the name of the design collective, which was active in Vienna, Austria from 1903 until 1932.
The artwork in this sleeve is one section of a complete watercolor: a scale replica of M.2006.88.11, originally designed by Max Snischek. The CD and artwork exist together in an edition of 100. The grid above shows the section you have received. $20
