Machine Project Guide to Cultural History and the Natural Sciences
at the Pomona College Museum of Art
Machine Project was invited to bring together several of our favorite artists for our first museum collaboration. We assembled the following four sculptural installation pieces:
-
Holly Vesecky presented the second version of her floral volcano installation, complete with subsonic seismic rumbles, a hot chocolate lava pit, and a cascading eruption of petals. More information about Mount St. Holly 2.0 here. -
Brian Crabtree and Kelli Cain filled a room with a distributed network of egg-tapping robots. More information about Almost Certified: Approaching Modernization in the US Egg Industry here. -
Ryan Taber and Cheyenne Weaver’s sculptural piece investigated the cultural history of European cartography. More information on this exploration of the cartouche here. -
Phil Ross created a post-industrial time machine electronics tumbler, including 35mm cameras weathered in a cement mixer. More information about Chronic Revelator here.
