A Machine Project Field Guide to the LA County Museum of Art
-
On November 15th, 2008 Machine Project was invited to visit the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, orchestrating ten hours of performances, workshops, and events experimenting with LACMA’s expansive grounds and enormous collection of stuff.
-
A really quite wonderful book containing photos, drawings, plans, text, and other assorted evidence that this momentous day actually happened, is now available for purchase at Machine or downloaded for free. Designed by the talented Kimberly Varella and the Department of Graphic Sciences

- Here you can download the handout and map that we distributed during the event. We also have about 600 of these in our basement, so if you want one or twenty of them for your obsessive collection of Machine marginalia, stop on by.
- While you’re at it, how about a poster from the event?
- And we’ve got some nice videos over here.
- This project was co-funded by LACMA’s public programs, the Ralph M Parsons endowment, and machine project’s much beloved funders.
We are still in the process of documenting the show – below you can find brief info on each project.
